If you’re familiar with German television, you know ZDF. You can get this public television app in the U.S. and stream movies, news shows, and documentaries on your phone and iPad.

Due to the country restrictions, you can’t watch current shows live, and on occasion, even some past shows or movies are limited to certain countries, but overall, there are a lot of films and shows to be found on ZDF Mediathek. Content constantly changes, but most content is available for months before it gets replaced by something new.
